Duke Energy

Since June 2021, I have been working as a UX UI Designer on the DXT team at Duke Energy. My main project has been focused on the Renewables sector with an application focused on calculating solutions for our clients to achieve their goal of reducing their Carbon Emission footprint. My role on the team has been UX UI Designer and some of my tasks include prototyping concepts, collaborating hand in hand with the front-end & back-end development team, as well as working with the product owner to ensure all business needs are met.

Problem Solved

Conceptualize

I've conceptualized campaigns from start to finish, thinking about the end-users in mind and the best way to deliver information.

User Experience

Prototype

At Duke Energy, I've been able to design experiences for products that will be used by our customers.

Brainstorming

Collaborate

I've worked with various roles, other UX UI designers, product owners, developers, SCRUM master, just to name a few.

Residential Carbon tool

The Residential Carbon tool is an initiative for our Duke customers to learn about their carbon footprint, how their usage plays a role, and how to lower their carbon footprint. My primary role in this project was to help conceptualize the project, create initial designs, work with the UX research team, and create iterations of the design as needed. I worked hand-in-hand with the developers and the product owner to create the MVP product.

Local Art magazine

From June 2019- June 2021 Radx Magazine was a passion project of mine highlighting local creatives of all art forms in one publication. I came up with the idea back in December 2018. It was originally intended to be a digital magazine that transformed into a quarterly print publication. The marketing, the branding, the design, and the direction were my responsibility, while I had additional support from a team to help with the writing, editing, and podcast.

Branding

Creating the branding for Radx really had to start with the mission statement and why the company even started. I brainstormed a few different ideas and finally settled on “Radx” incorporating a version of my last name. From there I researched other brand identity and formed a logo and branding guide. Implementing and constantly ensuring consistency is a big part of running Radx.

website design & Development

From concept to a fully functioning website. I created the organization, user experience, working within WordPress to create the end result. Radxmag.com is completely responsive and works with all browsers. While designing, I kept in mind the blog aspect, I also made sure to incorporate some essentials on the back end, such as Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and so on.

Local Property management

Sound Point Investment Partners, LLC (SPIP) is a family-owned commercial real estate entity headquartered in Fernandina Beach, FL.  The company owns and manages three historic buildings in Fernandina Beach and three others in Nassau County, FL.  In total, there are approximately 80,000 square feet under management with more than forty tenants.

Branding

Working on Sound Point Investment properties was a collaboration between myself and the team over at Sound Point. At first they were unsure of the direction, so I created a variety of different designs with multiple styles, and from there we had a direction.

website design & Development

My process was to start with an outline of the site, figure out the main pages, what needs to be on each page, and what features the website needs. Next step was to begin the layout for each page. Using the Branding Guide I created I determined the imagery style and started implementing it.
